Frequently Asked Questions:
Do I need to put my camera on? It's not mandatory, but it always helps the facilitators of the sessions if they can see people. It's also useful for us to keep an eye on participant responses and engagement - this allows us to adapt our approach or focus during the session to deliver as much value as we can.
Will I be expected to come off mute to speak? No, you won't be expected to come off mute to speak. The Espresso sessions are mostly run in the style of a presentation, with possibly one or two interactive activities in a session. We won't ask you to speak; we'll us the Chat, Gestures or Polling function instead. You have the choice to come off mute during the Q&A if you'd like to ask the facilitator a question.
Will I be expected to interact in any way? In the Espresso Sessions, we tend to use the Chat, Gesture or Polling function in Zoom. While not mandatory, it often helps to engage in these interactions, making the activities more meaningful. You can contribute a question (or a few of them) to the Q&A if you'd like, too.
Can I join these sessions on my phone or tablet? You can join these sessions on your phone or tablet, but we find the experience for the participant tends to be better if you join on a computer.
What if I can't make a session? If you can't make a session you registered for, please send an email to hello@d4spartnership.co.uk and let us know you won't be there. We can remove you from the attendee list, thereby opening up a space for someone else to join.
What if I'm late? Don't worry if you're late - we understand that unexpected interruptions can happen. We'll admit you to the session if you arrive late, but please bear in mind we start on time. Please try to arrive a minute or so early if you can, so you don't miss anything.
Will the session be recorded? Yes, we record our Espresso Sessions and host the video on our website for one month for anyone to view. We do not record participant names, information, or contributions to protect their confidentiality, and we do not record the Q&A.
Are subtitles available for these sessions? Yes, we use Zoom's autogenerated captions function. You'll be able to toggle these on or off as required in the session.
Will the slides be shared afterwards? Yes, we'll make the slides available to view on our website after the session.
Do I have to stick around for the 10-minute Q&A at the end? You don't have to stick around. While it'd be great to have you there, feel free to leave the session any time you'd like. The Q&A may not run for the entire 10 minutes if we don't get many questions. Often it can be useful to observe or engage in the Q&A, as people may bring real, grounded problems into the discussion and the facilitator will do their best to provide a considered response or solution.
Can I be contacted about upcoming events? Yes, we can alert you to upcoming sessions via email if you'd like. When filling in your details on the order form to reserve your place on an Espresso Session, tick the box that asks if you'd like to be updated on new Espresso Sessions. You'll then be added to the email list. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" on any of those emails.
