The EQ Advantage
Wednesday, 18th February 08:30 - 09:00 GMT
Session description
Espresso Session: Bitesize learning - free, virtual, open to everyone, and just 20 minutes long! - What to expect in this session: Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is a topic that many people dismiss as unimportant, ineffective, and even unnecessary. But that would be a grave oversight: emotional intelligence has been consistently documented to improve positive work behaviours, performance, decision-making, and results, as well as the attitudes and performance of those around us. It's clear that EQ is powerful, so how can we build it in ourselves? This session aims to illustrate EQ with a short journey through the light neuroscience, the contagiousness of emotions, and the trusted methods to enhance EQ in ourselves and others. Here, participants will learn how two neural networks shape their emotional awareness, understand how emotions spread through teams and influence organisational results, and walk away with practical tools to improve self-awareness, self-management, and interpersonal effectiveness. - Who's facilitating this session: Shay Deeny, host of this session and Director at D4S Partnership, leverages the most modern, cutting-edge, and often surprising psychological science to the support he provides to people and organisations across multiple countries and various industries. He aims to trigger mindset shifts and practical tools to help people be better at what they do, and to ultimately increase the sense of enjoyment and reward they get in work.
