Breaking the Imposter Cycle
Friday 5th December, 08:30 - 09:00 GMT
Session description
Espresso Session: Bitesize learning - free, virtual, open to everyone, and just 20 minutes long! - What to expect in this session: Imposter Syndrome (also known as Imposter Phenomenon) is a pattern of persistent self‑doubt, feelings of intellectual deceit, and fear of exposure that often haunts high achievers at all levels in the organisation. If left unchecked, it can undermine mental health and career development. Sufferers downplay success as luck, they overwork (or procrastinate) and mask their competence behind perfectionism. In this session you’ll explore the phenomenon, understand why it targets talented people and learn how to spot its signs. Through interactive polls and a mini self‑assessment, you’ll discover you’re not alone - and learn how to subdue the “fraud” voice, reclaim your self-worth, and take steps confidently towards your true potential. - Who's facilitating this session: Steve is D4SP’s Commercial Director and an experienced COO/business leader with 30+ years serving clients across a range of sectors - including I.T., financial services, aerospace, engineering, construction equipment and manufacturing - as well as within central and local government. He is practiced at managing business turnaround, post-acquisition integration, organisational change, strategy development, delivery operations, and customer service management. His specific expertise lies in improving operational outcomes, building high performing teams, developing leadership capabilities & driving bottom-line growth across businesses both large and small.
